Our Community
Our
community -- McMinnville, Yamhill County and the state of Oregon
-- understands the importance of creating and maintaining
healthy families and the vital work we do to empower victims to
move with confidence into the future. We appreciate the
generosity of our many friends, donors and volunteers. Mention
“Henderson House” anywhere in this community and people
immediately respond in a very positive way.
Henderson House also works
with a strong network of community partners, including
service providers,
law enforcement, and court and corrections personnel on a
countywide domestic violence task force, working toward a
coordinated community response. We work with state agencies to
develop coordinated case plans with mutual clients. These
are just a few of the ways we work with community agency to
serve survivors:
-
Through
agencies such as YCAP and the Housing Authority,
we
work to transition shelter clients into affordable long term
housing.
-
Working with
private therapists and through the Yamhill County Mental
Health Department, we facilitate counseling services for
clients who need them.
-
With the Crime
Victims Assistance Division of the District Attorney’s
office and the services of Legal Aid, we seek to surround
victims with access to the resources necessary to move
forward with their lives.
-
Communication
with the Department of Human Services enables us to track
child victims of domestic violence and keep them within the
safety net.
-
Our community
partners include schools, churches, chemical dependency
clinics, transportation providers, children’s services and
other Oregon domestic violence agencies.
Finally, we have a
fifteen page resource list of service providers in Yamhill
County—places where our clients can receive the additional help
they need.
