Donations Coordinator

The Donations Coordinator organizes and maintains incoming and existing donations received by Henderson House donors, such as clothing, shoes, household items, toys, hygiene products, bedding and other miscellaneous goods.

Responsibilities:

  • Following agency policies
  • Assuring immediate and continued safety and confidentiality of all HH clients
  • Dividing donations by type
  • Performing quality assessment of donations
  • Assessing the suitability and usefulness of donations for specific client needs
  • Discarding soiled, stained, and unusable items
  • Setting aside items which are appropriate for recycling
  • Organizing donations for Henderson House client retrieval
  • Maintaining a clean work area by keeping walkways clear, sweeping and dusting/cleaning shelves as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:    

  • Must complete introductory training for Donations Coordinator duties
  • Philosophy compatible to Henderson House Mission Statement, especially to include:
    • Understanding the experience of domestic and sexual violence survivors
    • Understanding of oppression and how it supports interpersonal violence
    • Understanding of the impact of trauma on survivors of violence
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of Henderson House clients
  • Ability to work well with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to work with Henderson House staff as a team member

This position reports to: Henderson House Volunteer Coordinator and Staff

Time commitment:  Minimum 1 hour per month
