The legacy that Henderson House boasts in 40 years of service and shelter for survivors of domestic and sexual violence in Yamhill County, Oregon is profound. When we put together the stats to represent these decades of service, we were stunned: 74,361 nights of shelter provided, 6,111 individuals sheltered, 28,497 crisis calls answered. But, more than these numbers, we know first-hand the powerful stories of transformation and hope that they represent. We will be sharing more about our impact throughout the month, through emails and posts.
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. We invite you to show your support for Henderson House this October by:
(1) Purchasing a $10 passport/raffle ticket which can be picked up at our Advocacy Center (610 SE 1st St, McMinnville, OR 97128) – just call ahead: 503-472-0244. Participants can earn additional raffle tickets by showing up for our event partners (instructions can be found inside the passports). The raffle prize is $500 toward lodging and dining at Chinook Winds Casino Resort at the Oregon coast.
(2) Bidding on some auction packages in our online auction. Bidding opens at Noon on Friday, October 15th and closes at 8:00pm on Friday, October 29th. Some of these packages would make really enviable Christmas presents – and it all goes toward a wonderful cause!
(3) Making a contribution to Henderson House by filling out the donation form that appears in the right-hand column of this page. Your gift will help to ensure that life-saving shelter and services continue to be available for survivors of domestic and sexual violence in Yamhill County, Oregon.
We are so grateful for your support and for all of our 40 Years of Hope event partners.
