April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month
Each year Henderson House recognizes Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) by dedicating our communications efforts to spreading the word about the realities faced by survivors of sexual assault and the services that we offer to support these survivors. The theme for SAAM 2025 is, “Together we act, united we change.” We believe that sexual violence can be prevented and that it is our shared responsibility to promote the safety and well-being of our community.
In addition to engaging in our communications campaign, we invite our community to show your support for survivors by participating in a few activities that will benefit Henderson House this April:
Saturday, April 12th (1pm) | “WALK A MILE“: Linfield University’s Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity is hosting their 10th annual “Walk A Mile” fundraiser to benefit Henderson House. Community members are welcome to come to the academic quad on campus and cheer on the Pikes as they walk a mile+ in heels, in honor of SAAM.
Thursday, April 24th (7:30pm) | THE LIGHTENING THIEF: Linfield University’s Theatre Program is once again dedicating the proceeds from the opening night performance of their Spring show – The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical at Marshall Theatre in Kenneth W. Ford Hall on the Linfield campus – to support Henderson House, in honor of SAAM.
