A letter from our new Development Director

Dear Henderson House Community,

Since I came on board as the development director for Henderson House this fall, I have been in awe of the compassion, dedication, and perseverance of our advocates.

Each time a survivor walks through our doors or calls our 24-hour crisis line (503-472-1503), our advocates show up with experienced, genuine, and entirely confidential support.

Everyone knows someone who is affected by domestic violence and/or sexual assault. Serving on this team, I am filled with gratitude that such remarkable people are dedicating their lives day in and day out to ensure that no one in our community has to navigate a pathway to safety and healing alone.

In the 41 years since Henderson House opened our doors, we have provided over 80,000 nights of shelter and answered over 30,000 calls for help.

As this year comes to a close, I am inviting you to extend your support to survivors through a donation to Henderson House.

It is with the help of supporters like you that we are able to continue providing emergency shelter, one-on-one advocacy, support groups, assistance with safety plans and protection orders, court and emergency room accompaniment, and resource referrals.

I am so honored to serve this organization that has served our community faithfully for so many years. And, I am so grateful to our passionate network of supporters that help to keep our doors open.

With deep gratitude,

Rachel Flores
Henderson House Development Director
