The meaning behind “Illuminating Hope”…

Abuse, in all of its forms, is oppressive, dehumanizing, and potentially lethal. Henderson House’s trained, confidential advocates refuse to let the darkness of abuse extinguish the light of hope. We show up for our clients through confidential 1-on-1 support, 24-hour crisis response, 30-day emergency shelter, assistance with safety plans and protection orders, resource referral, support groups, as well as court and emergency room accompaniment. This work of illuminating hope is vital, life changing, life saving, and ongoing.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. This October, we invited our community to show their support of Henderson House by participating in our “Illuminating Hope” activities, including: a passport/raffle, a civic plaza art installation, a candlelight vigil, an open house at the Henderson House Advocacy Center, and an online auction. We are so grateful for all of our Illuminating Hope event participants and partners. With your help we were able to raise over $22,000 to continue our support of survivors in Yamhill County — thank you!
