Dr. Dorie Vickery

Dr. Dorie Vickery has served as Superintendent of Sheridan School District since July 2020, the latest chapter in a career dedicated to strengthening schools, expanding opportunities for students, and building meaningful partnerships that help communities thrive. In Sheridan, Dorie has led districtwide initiatives focused on student success through career-connected learning and has built a strong network of community partners to address student needs beyond the classroom. Her current work includes leading the regional Barbara Roberts Career Technical Education Center initiative, implementing the 2025 Sheridan Schools Bond, and establishing a district Care Team that identifies and helps remove barriers to learning for students and families.
Before joining Sheridan, Dr. Vickery spent 13 years with Central School District, providing leadership in curriculum, instruction, assessment, grant-funded programs, and school administration. She earned her master’s degree in school administration from Concordia University and her doctorate in education from George Fox University.
A collaborative leader, Dr. Vickery believes change happens through strong relationships and shared purpose. In addition to her work in public education, she serves on the board of the Yamhill Community Care Organization, supporting collaborative efforts that strengthen the health, safety, and well-being of children and families throughout Yamhill County.
