John Olson
John Olson serves as President and CEO of the McMinnville Area Chamber of Commerce, where he leads efforts to strengthen the local economy through business advocacy, economic development, workforce initiatives, and community partnerships. John has a special connection to Crown of Yamhill County. In 2024, he proudly earned the title of First Runner-Up, proving that a little confidence and a lot of fun can go a long way. After serving as Master of Ceremonies in 2025, he is delighted to return for a second year as your MC for the 2026 competition.
With more than 20 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, public advocacy, and strategic collaboration, John has built his career around bringing people together to solve challenges and create opportunities. Before joining the Chamber, he served as Assistant Director of Strategic Partnerships at Linfield University, connecting education, business, and the community to support student success and regional growth.
Since becoming Chamber CEO in 2024, John has championed initiatives that help local businesses thrive, including innovative healthcare solutions, workforce development programs, and regional economic partnerships. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Oregon State Chamber of Commerce and remains actively involved in numerous community organizations throughout Yamhill County.
Outside of his professional life, John is a passionate supporter of the arts and can often be found volunteering or performing on stage at Gallery Theater. He also enjoys emceeing community events, where his quick wit and enthusiasm help create memorable experiences.
