Lynne Shore
Lynne Shore has dedicated decades to serving students, families, and her community through school nutrition, volunteer leadership, and local outreach. Known fondly as a devoted “lunch lady,” she has spent 30 years in school nutrition, including more than 20 as Nutrition Director for the Willamina School District. She has also served for 10 years as the district’s Homeless Liaison, providing compassionate support to students and families experiencing housing instability.
Her community service extends beyond her professional role. A former Red Cross volunteer, Lynne supports local events and fundraisers, including sharing her baking talents through the Willamina Historical Group’s For the Love of History and Chocolate fundraiser.
As a school nutrition leader, Lynne creates welcoming cafeteria spaces, teaches students to make healthy choices, and has served in state and national volunteer roles supporting training, advocacy, and collaboration among school nutrition professionals.
Her honors include the National School Nutrition Hero Award, Western Nutrition Director of the Year, National District of Excellence, USDA Innovation in Nutrition Education recognition, and the HealthierUS Schools Award, which earned her a White House visit as a guest of Michelle Obama.
When she is not feeding kids, Lynne feeds her soul by spending time with her family—and reminds fellow participants to stay alert, as she once held the title of Little Miss Oakridge Builders Supply of 1968.
