Dear Henderson House supporters,

Henderson House is seeking your support to continue providing vital services for domestic and sexual violence survivors in Yamhill County during the most adverse funding environment Henderson House has faced in our 44 years of service.

In the face of major funding cuts, we urgently request the help of our community through financial gifts, supplies for our agency, and donations toward flexible funds for survivors’ many practical needs.

Henderson House has limited funding to cover our clients many, immediate and varied practical needs. We are asked by clients on a daily basis to help with a variety of needs, including: rent, utilities, medical and dental bills, car repair bills, school supplies, clothing, household items, transportation costs, overnight stays at motels/hotels when our shelter is full, etc.

Our clients are in tricky situations, often without income for a period while they are fleeing an abuser. One-time expenses, and many other concerns, can be the barrier that keeps them tied to an abuser or impacts their ability to leave. We have limited funds with often specific criteria that we use to meet some of these needs. We have long needed a more robust flex fund to better meet this need and in the face of immense funding cuts, we are seeking flex fund support from donors like you.

Any amount you are able to give to support our work, or through supplies for our agency, or toward a flex fund to cover clients’ practical needs would be greatly appreciated. We are so grateful for our remarkable network of supporters, sustaining survivor services in Yamhill County.
