April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month

Each April Henderson House recognizes Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) by dedicating our communications efforts to spreading the word about the realities faced by survivors of sexual assault and the services that we offer to support these survivors.

The SAAM theme for 2024, “Our Voices Have Power. Together, We Can Build Safe and Respectful Communities,” promotes the belief that individually and collectively we must speak up against pro-violence, pro-oppression messages to cultivate safe, respectful communities free of sexual violence.

In addition to engaging in our communications campaign, we invite our community to show your support for the survivors Henderson House serves by participating in a few activities that will benefit Henderson House this April:

Saturday, April 13th @ 10am | “Walk A Mile” (in her shoes)

Come to the Linfield University Academic Quad on Saturday, April 13th @ 10am to see the Pi Kappa Alpha brothers “Walk A Mile” (in her shoes). The Linfield Pikes have supported Henderson House for nine years through this fundraiser in honor of SAAM, and it never fails to be a fun time that brings awareness about important issues that impact all of us.

Thursday, April 18th @ 7:30pm | The Imaginary Invalid

The Linfield University Theatre Program is dedicating the proceeds from their opening night performance of The Imaginary Invalid on Thursday, April 18th @ 7:30pm to benefit Henderson House.

Join us for the performance at Kenneth W. Ford Hall on the Linfield University campus and stick around after the show for the opening night reception – wine, coffee and light refreshments will be served.
