Front Office Volunteer
Office volunteers help our program with important duties such as answering phones, helping out with donations, and assisting with special projects. If you’re interested in giving back in other ways besides advocacy, becoming an office volunteer may be right for you. A Front Office Volunteer’s responsibilities include:
- Following agency policies
- Assuring immediate and continued safety and confidentiality of shelter clients
- Attend relevant meetings related to the agency
- Answer the phone, take messages or transfer as necessary
- Greet and respond to walk-in clients and guests in a supportive and trauma-informed way
- Receives and records donations and provides receipt
- Assists with general office tasks which can be completed at front desk
- Keeping Community Resource Room materials maintained and organized
- Sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, general clean-up, when necessary, of reception and seating areas in house, making sure facility is neat and clean at all times
- Help with special projects as requested
- Volunteers are asked to please refrain from personal cell phone use, to make calls, play games, etc.
