Support Group Child Care Provider

The Support Group Child Care Provider is responsible for overseeing and monitoring children’s play activities and assures the immediate and continued safety of the children in their care. Responsibilities include:

  • Group begins at 6:00 and ends at 7:30pm.  Please arrive 15 minutes early, sign in and wear a name tag
  • Responsible for informing volunteer coordinator,  in advance, if you are unable to show up on your scheduled day and time
  • Introduce yourself to the group facilitator
  • Introduce yourself and be welcoming to all parents and children
  • Supervise children at all times, whether inside or outside
  • Maintain a safe play environment
  • Be patient with children who may be withdrawn
  • Prepare and serve snacks and refreshments about half way through group time
  • Help children with homework and school work
  • Read, play games, watch movies, color, do a craft project – whatever you think appropriate with age group in attendance – let children guide the way – offer options
  • Assist with escorting children to the restroom
  • Place all outside toys, riders, balls, under covered area
  • Keep toy/play areas organized
  • Clean, sweep, sanitize toys, tables and play areas as needed
  • Communicate any issues with children with their parents and group facilitator
