Volunteer with Henderson House

Volunteers are integral to the work of Henderson House. We are actively recruiting for a variety of volunteer roles – descriptions of each role can be viewed by clicking on the titles listed below. As survivor-serving agencies like ours are facing major funding cuts at the state and federal levels, we are relying on our community’s volunteer support now more than ever!

We have an acute need for volunteers to help cover our 24-hour crisis phone line, providing direct support services over the phone to victims and survivors of domestic and sexual violence, human trafficking, and stalking. These vitally important volunteers will take calls in shifts (5pm – 9am on weekdays and over weekends), on a rotating basis and our staff advocates will provide back-up and follow-up response to the calls received by volunteers. To serve in this capacity, we ask prospective volunteers to complete our Core Advocacy Training, offered in-person twice per year. Register for our upcoming Core Advocacy Training series, which will begin on Sept. 8, 2025.

If you are interested in serving as a Henderson House volunteer, please complete the Henderson House Volunteer Application and our Volunteer Coordinator Trudy Siderius will follow up with you regarding service opportunities.
